bryanerik asked: A guy I went to high school with is called Spud. He wasn't in high school, but he only goes by that now. He was my original AN. He had this thing where he though it was cool to wear those awful goth pants and sing opera just before class started. In 9th grade he proposed to his 12th grade girlfriend in an outside stairwell. She said yes. I almost killed myself.

Your protagonist’s big flaw can’t be something she can easily ignore or suppress. If she can always keep it at arm’s length or bottled up inside, then it’s not much of a flaw, is it?
